PALM BEACH TEENS
Under-18s Admission Policy
1. Purpose
Palm Beach Teens under-18 events are designed to provide a safe, supervised and enjoyable social environment for young people.
Palm Beach Teens under-18 events are operated by Community Projects Base C.I.C., a not-for-profit community organisation.
This Admission Policy sets out the conditions of entry and behaviour to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all attendees and works alongside our Safeguarding & Child Protection Policy.
All Palm Beach Teens under-18 events are pay on the door. Events are extremely popular and entry is subject to capacity, therefore early arrival is advised.
2. Age Eligibility

Palm Beach Teens under-18 events are strictly for young people in Secondary School
-
Attendees must be in Secondary School Years 7–11
-
Proof of age or school year may be requested
-
Anyone outside this eligibility will be refused entry
3. Entry & Re-Entry
-
Once admitted, attendees must remain within the venue
-
A supervised outdoor area may be provided for fresh air
-
Leaving the supervised area or exiting the venue will result in no re-entry
-
Attendees are not permitted to leave the venue to visit nearby shops, food outlets or surrounding areas
-
Where possible, parents or guardians will be informed upon collection if a young person chooses to leave early
These measures are in place for safeguarding and supervision purposes.
4. Searches & Safety Screening
To maintain a safe environment:

Entry is conditional upon agreeing to safety searches

Bag searches will be conducted for all attendees

Metal detection equipment may be used
-
Searches are conducted respectfully and with consent
Anyone who refuses to comply with safety searches will be refused entry.
5. Prohibited Items & Substances
The following are not permitted at Palm Beach Teens under-18 events:

Alcohol
-
Illegal substances
-
Weapons or offensive items
-
External food or drink (including bottled water)
Free drinking water is available from the bar on request.
Anyone found in possession of prohibited items may be refused entry or removed from the event. Where appropriate, parents or guardians may be contacted and, in serious cases, the police may be informed.
6. Alcohol, Drugs & Intoxication

Any person who arrives intoxicated or is believed to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be refused entry

Breathalysers or other screening measures may be used

Parents or guardians will be contacted for collection where appropriate
-
Repeat incidents may result in a ban from future events
7. Smoking & Vaping
-
Smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited inside the venue
-
Palm Beach does not encourage smoking or vaping
-
A supervised outdoor area may be designated
-
Any attendee found vaping inside the venue will have the vape confiscated and it will not be returned
8. Dress Code
Palm Beach Teens under-18 events promote a relaxed, youth-appropriate dress code.
For safety and identification purposes:

No hoods, balaclavas or face coverings are permitted
-
Sensible footwear should be worn
The venue reserves the right to refuse entry where clothing poses a safety or safeguarding concern.
9. Behaviour & Conduct
Palm Beach operates a zero-tolerance approach to:

Bullying
-
Violence
-
Vandalising the venue
-
Threatening, abusive or antisocial behaviour
Any attendee engaging in such behaviour may be:
-
Removed from the event
-
Have parents or guardians contacted immediately
-
Banned from future Palm Beach Teens under-18 events
10. Abuse Towards Staff
Abuse, threats or aggressive behaviour towards staff, volunteers or security personnel will not be tolerated.
Any person found abusing staff may be removed from the event and banned from future Palm Beach Teens under-18 events.
Where necessary, the police may be contacted to protect staff and attendees.
11. Supervision, Welfare & Collection

Events are staffed by trained volunteers and SIA-licensed door supervisors
-
Qualified First Aiders are present, and a designated welfare / first aid area is available
-
Palm Beach is not a childcare provider, but operates with a clear duty of care during organised youth events
If a young person is refused entry or removed, reasonable steps will be taken to ensure they remain supervised on site until collected by a parent or guardian.
At the end of the event:

Young people will only be permitted to leave once staff have visually confirmed the presence of a parent or guardian collecting them

Where taxis are used, reasonable steps will be taken to confirm the name of the person being collected
12. Photography, Media & Online Safety
Photography and filming may take place at Palm Beach Teens under-18 events in line with the Photography & Media Policy.

All photographers are DBS checked
-
No images of distress or inappropriate situations are taken
-
Requests not to be photographed or for images to be removed will be respected promptly
Palm Beach also operates official social media channels in line with the Online Safety & Social Media section of our Safeguarding & Child Protection Policy.
13. Capacity & Refusal of Entry

Entry is subject to venue capacity limits

Palm Beach reserves the right to refuse admission or remove an attendee for safety, safeguarding or operational reasons
14. Personal Property
-
Attendees are responsible for their own belongings
-
Palm Beach is not responsible for loss or damage to personal property
-
Lost property will be retained for a limited period
-
Valuables should not be brought to events
15. Final Note
Palm Beach Teens under-18 events exist to provide a positive, safe and memorable experience for young people.
By attending, all attendees and parents/guardians agree to comply with this Admission Policy, which operates alongside our Safeguarding & Child Protection Policy.
