Palm Beach Community Projects Base C.I.C.

Building community, supporting families and empowering young people across Wellingborough and the surrounding areas

Our Mission:

Empower. Include. Inspire.

At the heart of Palm Beach is Community Projects Base C.I.C (Company No. 10290841) — a not-for-profit organisation built on one belief: every person in our community deserves a place to thrive.

We’re here to tackle boredom, ignite creativity, and create safe, inclusive spaces where people feel supported and empowered.

From early years development and Mums & Tots groups to disability discos and youth-led boredom prevention events, our projects are designed to include, uplift, and inspire.

Whether it’s mentoring young people, supporting families, or creating inclusive social spaces, our work is designed to make a meaningful and lasting difference.

We’re proud to be building something real.
Something lasting.

Something community-powered.

We exist to support people who face the greatest barriers in our community — including children, young people, people with disabilities, older residents, and families at risk of isolation.

Every event, programme and activity we run is not-for-profit, community-led, and designed to create opportunities for those who would otherwise miss out.

Our Community Impact

Delivering inclusive programmes for children, young people, families and adults

Supporting SEN and disability communities through safe, accessible events

Providing positive, supervised spaces for under-18s

Reinvesting income into not-for-profit community initiatives that directly benefit local residents

Across all programmes delivered in the past 12 months

4000+

Annual Community Engagements

Based on attendance throughout the previous year.  Delivering consistent, inclusive and supervised community provision across Wellingborough.

Including youth-led activities, peer involvement and volunteering opportunities across programmes.

How Community Projects Base C.I.C Operates

Some programmes are delivered directly, while others are currently being developed and expanded subject to funding.

All income generated is reinvested into delivering inclusive, affordable community programmes.

Our activities are hosted at Palm Beach, providing a safe, accessible venue to deliver our work sustainably.

All activities are delivered in a supervised, inclusive environment with appropriate safeguarding measures in place.

We believe safe, inclusive spaces change lives.  That's why every penny we raise goes right back into our community.

WHY WE DO IT

Many people in Wellingborough face real barriers to opportunity — including limited access to local training, employment pathways, inclusive support services, and safe, structured activities.

This particularly affects:

  • Young people, including those not in education, employment or training (NEET)

  • Individuals with disabilities or additional needs

  • Families requiring safe, affordable and structured provisions and support

  • Vulnerable and older members of the community at risk of isolation

Why It Matters

National data highlights growing challenges around confidence, engagement and progression, with 13.2% of 16–25 year olds across the UK currently not in education, employment or training (NEET).

Locally, the need is even greater.

  • 6.56% Youth unemployment locally n

(vs 3.27% in more rural areas). Wellingborough has one of the highest levels of youth unemployment in the region.

  • Demand for inclusive and accessible community provision

Including support for individuals with disabilities, additional needs, and those who benefit from structured, supportive environments.

  • Higher deprivation and unequal opportunity

(IMD: 21.68 vs 19.60)

Some areas face significant challenges linked to deprivation, education, access to services and unequal opportunities.

15.5% of North Northamptonshire’s population lives within the 20% most deprived areas in England, with some of the highest concentrations in Wellingborough.

  • Rise in disengagement from education

Including increased home education, poor school attendance and persistent absence across the 13–16 age group. In 2020/21, 13.5% of secondary school pupils in Northamptonshire were classed as persistent absentees.

  • Increasing mental health challenges

Affecting confidence, wellbeing and the ability to participate across all age groups.

  • Ongoing concerns around safety and knife-related crime

Like many towns across the UK, this reinforces the need for safe, supervised and positive environments.

What Makes Our Approach Different

At Palm Beach, we don’t just deliver programmes — we build relationships.

As a youth-led and customer-led environment, we listen to the people we support, involve them every step of the way, and create opportunities they actually want to be part of.

“

The Young Entrepreneurs programme helped build my confidence and improved how I communicate with others. I learned new skills and became more outgoing — it was an amazing experience.

— Participant

That’s why we use a unique live venue environment — creating something that feels relevant, engaging and exciting, while still being structured, supervised and safe.

With us, young people and community members are given the opportunity to be:

✔ Heard
✔ Involved
✔ Actively consulted
✔ Supported to grow in a real-world setting

What People Say

HELP US GROW

🚽 A Note on Our Toilets (We Know, We Know…)

We believe in being honest with our community—and if there’s one thing we could change tomorrow, it’s the toilets!

Originally built during the venue’s nightclub days, they’re fully functional and cleaned regularly, but they don’t reflect the warm, inclusive, family-friendly space Palm Beach has become. Think: classic nightclub vibes, not community chic.

We’re working toward a full renovation to bring them up to the modern standard our guests deserve.

💡 Want to be part of the change?

If you’re a local business or individual interested in sponsoring or supporting a toilet makeover for the benefit of our community, we’d love to hear from you.
